I hate some art groups on deviant art so much because no matter how much time and effort you put into making something so great they’re just so picky and decline the work and either don’t say why or reply with
“your art work wasn’t up to standards, but please don’t take this as an insult to your art skill”
yeah right “don’t take insult”
they’re pretty much saying “its shit, but this is the nicest way we can put it”
they say things like “for aspiring artists” or “for quality art”
yet they reject something someone works so hard for, something they want to share with everyone and they just decline it and slap on the same reason every time
why cant they just loosen up? everyone has great art, no matter how its coloured, or drawn, every art is quality. not just whats up to their standards.
they’re the reason i end up feeling so badly about my art and why so many others feel the same way because it’s not on the same level as others.
And then if you confront them about it and ask why they reject so many, they act like victims and say “the admins of the group work so hard to make this group good and you’re causing drama”
Now i’m not gonna name any groups in particular, but i am talking about specific ones in my mind…
why cant they get it into their heads they everyone’s art is quality no matter how long it took or how good it is and it just makes me so mad.

Sounds depressing :( But instead of being complacent about your artwork or suggesting that others’ standards be removed, use this as motivation to improve your skill :) A group looking for artwork from experienced and skilled artists will not agree that “everyone has great art” for their group. I can tell you have some fun drawings in your gallery, but have further to go. I hope you do, you have potential!

Rights v. Morality (2013)
A lot of people seem to think that a law is a-okay as long as most people agree that the law is moral. Never mind the fact that it’s unconstitutional. E.g. “we can ban sodomy because it’s immoral. Never mind the 9th amendment and the precedent in Griswold v Connecticut.”
Now, Constitutionality and morality often DO overlap (e.g. murder, theft, etc), so I understand why so many people mistakenly believe that morality is the standard for legality instead of the Constitution, but when a Supreme Court justice doesn’t understand it, that’s scary.
